The Society has two Specialized groups which focus on specific areas of Astronomy. A third group is about to start functioning soon. The meteor group was the first group after the committee in 1994 decided to setup specialised groups of members that will concentrate on particular fields of astronomy. Recently the Light pollution Awareness Group has been created to safeguard our nightskies from light pollution.
