Malta Amateur Astronomy Picture of the Week: Week 4 (26-08-2018): Heart Nebula Taken by: Leonard Ellul-Mercer Information: The Heart Nebula, IC 1805, Sharpless 2-190, lies some 7500 light years away from Earth and is located in the Perseus Arm of the Galaxy in the constellation Cassiopeia. It was discovered by William Herschel on 3 November 1787 Radius: 100 light years Distance to Earth: 7,500 light years Equipment: Tak106 FSQ ED scope + 0.73 focal reducer on Tak EM11 mount, SBIG STL11000 Mono ccd.
