Saturday, 20th April 2002, Dingli Cliffs (Maddalena Chapel) – 7:30 p.m.
This is a joint activity with members of Nature Trust (Malta). A tour of the April night sky will be presented, and if weather permits, we will view the beauty of the first quarter Moon, as well as planets Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Venus and Mercury amongst others using the Society’s telescopes.
Following the observation session, at around 9pm, we shall be having a short night hike in the vicinities (till about midnight). Dress warm and comfortable and bring along binoculars. Definitely NO searchlight-type torches allowed, avoiding ulterior light pollution in our skies!
